Ger van Elk

Selected works

  • In the late 1960s and early 1970s, Dutch artist Ger van Elk (b. 1941) was an influential contributor to the development of Conceptual art, both in Europe (The Netherlands, Italy) and in the U.S. (Los Angeles). In contrast to some of his rather more dogmatic colleagues, most of van Elk‘s assemblages, installations, overpainted photographs, films and slide projections admit the expression of very personal emotions.
